Painting has accompanied me since childhood. I was shaped early on by Galerie 66 in Hofheim am Taunus and by encounters with contemporary art. While I was initially fascinated by abstract positions, as a young person I developed a passion for figurative drawing and classical painting.
After studying at the Merz Akademie in Stuttgart, I worked as an illustrator, as a visiting lecturer at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart, and as an independent artist. Over the years, I created portraits and illustrations, developed Comic Cubism under the artist name ditArdo, and participated in numerous exhibitions and art projects in Germany and abroad.
Since 2014, quinces have formed the central focus of my independent painting. Inspired by the Old Masters, I combine traditional techniques such as chalk ground, egg tempera and casein glue paint with a contemporary pictorial language. My works explore beauty, transience and individuality and have received several awards as well as being presented in museums, art associations and galleries.
