Ein skulptural wirkendes Quittenporträt in kühlen Grau- und Blautönen, gemalt 2025 in Eitempera auf klassischem Kreidegrund.
Quitte MUS-01 differs from the luminous yellow and green works in the series through its radically reduced palette. The large quince appears in cool shades of grey, silver and blue, with dry ochre and dark leaves above it.
The restrained colour draws attention to volume, light and surface. Small indentations and irregularities are treated like individual facial features, while the side light gives the fruit an almost sculptural presence.
Painted in 2025 in egg tempera on a traditional chalk ground over a wooden panel. The work is currently on loan to the Paul-Löbe-Haus in Berlin.
