In The Cap Dance, a bearded man in profile is enclosed between a raised collar and an oversized pink cap. While he remains almost motionless, the cap seems to come alive, its long extensions forming an exuberant dance above his head.
The work moves between comedy and unease. A familiar object becomes autonomous, like a thought, dream or inner restlessness that can no longer be controlled.
Acrylic on paper, approximately 25 × 30 cm, 2009. Private collection.
